SACS is governed by a Steering Committee of distinguished cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons.
Our Chairman for 2017 is Gorav Ailawadi, MD, Professor of Surgery and Section Chief of Adult Cardiac Surgery at the University of Virginia. In addition to his involvement with SACS, Dr. Ailawadi is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Heart Association, and the Cardiac Surgery Biology Club.
